Is a badge scan instantly an MQL?

Buyers are tired of talking to automations.

You can feel it everywhere. People are showing up to events again, lingering at booths, asking real questions over bad conference coffee. Marketing Week flagged a renewed emphasis on human connection as one of the bigger B2B shifts this year, and quarterly goal calendars back that up.

Here’s the part I keep thinking about: a good conversation is fragile.

Someone tells you what’s really keeping them up at night. You nod, you get it, you shorthand some messy notes in a new notebook from another booth, and you mean to follow up. Then the flight home happens, Monday happens, and that moment of trust and connection turns into just another badge scan in a spreadsheet. The context is lost.

The connection was real; it just had nowhere to go.

What does your team do to keep great event conversations alive after everyone gets home and back to work?
