In the early and mid-90s, I was a traveling Assistant Manager for Radio Shack in Northern California. “Thank you for calling Radio Shack. You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers. This is Troy. How can I be of service today?” I learned a ton about a trustworthy customer service ethic, waiting for the right moment to make a suggestion, and following the sage leadership of a good manager.
I worked my way up to the top 5% of salespeople in the country and even racked up a $5,000 sales day (quite a feat with 90s prices).
We had 2 certain items on the seemingly endless array of wall pegs: ADAPTERS and TERMINATORS (supply your own ‘Ahnuld’ impression). Adapters provided several functions: delivering power, sound, and signal. Terminators were useful for certain audio, video, and power cables because they prevented signal or power loss.
I like to consider myself an ADAPTER, first and foremost, because I can turn chaos into creativity and puzzles into profit. My endlessly curious mind finds a way to connect buying signals and attribution riddled with static and come out with a clear picture or music to the executives’ ears.
I can help clean up whatever database noise on qualified records you’re dealing with. Request a meeting, and I promise I won’t try to sell you batteries.
